How our corporate forex service works

You have two options when making a foreign payment: Pre-funded and facility. Below we'll go into detail on both options.

Pre-funded

  1. Email an invoice containing the currency, amount and account details of the supplier to saforex@sableinternational.com. Please include the total amount you are looking to pay in the body of the email. Advise whether you would like to be called or emailed to confirm the current rate and total Rand amount required.
  2. We will email you the total Rand amount required once you have confirmed the rate.
  3. Send us the proof of payment (POP) as soon as possible. Please note: We will only book the currency on receiving the POP; this means the rates may move if sent much later.
  4. We will then send you swift confirmation once the deal has been completed and your supplier settled.
  5. You email us all your documents, meaning you no longer need to deliver them to the bank.

Facility

  1. Email an invoice containing the currency, amount and account details of the supplier to saforex@sableinternational.com. Please include the total amount you are looking to pay in the body of the email. Advise whether you would like to be called/emailed to confirm the current rate and total Rand amount required.

  2. On your confirmation, we book the rate and email the required Rand amount to be transferred.

  3. You then send us the proof if payment (POP) as soon as possible. Please note: We will only release the transfer on receiving POP.
  4. We will then send you swift confirmation once the deal has been completed and your supplier settled.
  5. You email us all your documents, meaning you no longer need to deliver them to the bank.

When you’re ready to make a foreign payment, you can contact one of our brokers on +21 (0) 21 657 2153 or email saforex@sableinternational.com

Please note: Exporters work in a similar way. We can facilitate the opening of CFC (Customer Foreign Currency) accounts in your company name to which your overseas counterparties can send their payments. The Rand proceeds from the conversion are then sent to your local bank.
