Our Zimbabwe Study Abroad department is looking to add a Head of Operations to their team.
Job overview:
To lead and manage the day-to-day operations and student recruitment efforts of the Zimbabwe Study Abroad office. This includes overseeing marketing, events, finance, HR, IT, sales, and partner engagement. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality student service delivery, executing local and group-wide marketing initiatives (including our biannual Study Abroad Expos), driving enrolments, and serving as the face of the business in Zimbabwe.
You’re perfect for this position if you:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field
- Have worked in a fast-growing environment, and experience leading global teams of SDRs/BDMs/ADRs/OBRs (Must Have)
- Have proven experience in operations management, preferably in the education services industry or student placement industry
- Have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Have experience with CRM products and business models
- Have strong communication skills (both oral & written) with great presentation skills to core and reporting team
- Have strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- Can lead by example, ensuring everyone is adhering to the business's core values
- Can be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions at a fast-paced, growing company
- Are a quick learner and always searching for ways to expand your knowledge
- Have excellent financial acumen, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data
- Demonstrated experience in sales and achieving business targets.
- Have sound knowledge of HR practices and principles
- Are proficient with IT systems and tools, and possess the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Your role and responsibilities:
Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include:
Team management:
- Leading and managing a team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure individual and team success
- Fostering a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting productivity, accountability, and professional growth
- Conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and implementing performance improvement plans when necessary
Finance management:
- Overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management
- Collaborating with the finance department to ensure accurate record-keeping, financial compliance, and timely financial reporting
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to optimize financial resources
Sales:
- Collaborating with the sales team to develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive student enrolment and revenue growth.
- Analysing market trends, competitor activities, and student preferences to identify potential opportunities for business expansion.
- Ensuring effective communication between the operations and sales teams to align business objectives and achieve targets
HR support:
- Providing support to the HR department in recruitment, onboarding, and talent management processes
- Fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting employee engagement and satisfaction
- Addressing employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary issues in a fair and timely manner
IT support:
- Collaborating with the IT team to ensure seamless functioning of systems, software, and hardware
- Identifying and implementing IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity
- Training team members on IT tools and systems to optimize their performance
People and stakeholder management:
- Cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, including universities, educational consultants, and other relevant partners.
- Acting as a point of contact for key stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction
- Representing the company in external meetings, conferences, and events to promote Sable International's services and brand

Marketing Manager
Tallulah started as a junior social media strategist in 2014. In 2020 she started assisting the content team, using her journalism background. In 2022 she was promoted to content and traffic lead, before taking on the role of Marketing Manager in February 2023. She now manages a team of 11 creative individuals across content, SEO, PPC, design, social media and front end development.
