Our Cape Town-based Study Abroad team is seeking a Study Abroad Adviser to support our expanding partnerships with UK boarding schools and student recruitment initiatives.

This strategic and operational role reports directly to the Managing Director and will see you working closely with UK schools, students and families. You will provide expert guidance on university applications and UK student visas, while also co-ordinating student recruitment events and fairs across the UK.

You’re perfect for this position if you:

  • Have a background in international education gained through study, student advisory or recruitment roles
  • Have completed a diploma or degree, preferably in a related field
  • Have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Are highly organised with strong administrative abilities and attention to detail
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally (English fluency required)
  • Are proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Have strong service delivery and client-facing skills
  • Are computer literate, proficient in typing and have experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Have excellent reporting skills, with the ability to track student engagement, application progress and outcomes accurately.

Your role and responsibilities:

Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include:

Relationship management:

  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with staff at partner UK boarding schools (including teachers, department heads and student support staff)
  • Acting as a trusted contact point for students, parents and school staff about university study options and visa processes
  • Keeping schools updated on student progress and engagement

Student engagement and conversion:

  • Encouraging students at partner schools to make use of Sable International’s services
  • Running online or in-person information sessions for students and parents
  • Guiding students step-by-step through the university application process, from choosing a course to preparing documents, submitting applications and managing offers

Visa casework:

  • Assisting students with their UK Student visa applications as they move on to university (full training provided)
  • Making sure applications are accurate, complete and submitted on time
  • Working with families and schools to collect all required supporting documents
  • Helping to onboard and train additional staff as the number of applications grows

Event co-ordination:

  • Organising the logistics for Sable International-hosted university fairs and application days at UK partner schools
  • Co-ordinating with school staff, visiting universities and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Attending and supporting events in the UK as required (international travel may be part of the role)

Reporting and CRM:

  • Recording accurate student and school engagement details in the CRM system
  • Preparing regular reports on student applications, school visits and progress updates
  • Ensuring all work complies with UK visa regulations and Sable International’s internal standards
