Small businesses: Apply now for your Growth Voucher

by Sable International | Jan 20, 2014
  • On Monday 27th January 2014, the UK government’s Growth Vouchers will go live. If you are a small business owner and meet the criteria set down by the government, you will be eligible to receive a Growth Voucher up to £2,000, allocated to you on condition that you spend it with a supplier or advisor listed on the Enterprise Nation marketplace. Sable International is an approved supplier, and will be accepting these Growth Vouchers until March 2015.

Chancellor George Osborne introduced the idea of a £30m Growth Voucher scheme for small businesses in his 2013 Autumn Statement. The voucher works as a subsidy for small businesses, allowing them to obtain strategic advice within five categories, with the government matching your spend up to a maximum of £2,000.

According to Scott Brown, Managing Director of  Sable International, the programme is designed to connect small businesses with seasoned experts – a resource that many startups are often without.

“Britain’s startup culture is booming. Half a million new companies registered themselves over the past twelve months alone. For us at Sable Accounting, it’s an opportunity to spur British economic growth. For SMEs and startups, the scheme presents a wonderful opportunity to access the free capital that will actively grow their businesses,” says Brown.

The scheme is being rolled out by Enterprise Nation, which won the bid to deliver the government’s £30m Growth Voucher marketplace. They have included a helpful list of FAQs on their website.

The programme goes live on Monday 27th January 2014 and vouchers will be available until March 2015. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to grow your business – and your client base – by receiving expert advice from Sable’s accountants.
